UGREEN Smart Living Launch Event, Part One — local intelligence for your home
Recently UGREEN flew me and other journalists to Foxborough, Massachusetts for their Smart Living Launch Event at Gillette Stadium — home of the NFL’s six-time Superbowl Championship-winning New England Patriots.

Founded in 2012, UGREEN has grown to become a global-leading consumer technology company. Built around four product categories, namely smart charging and creative products, smart office products, smart audio and visual products, and smart storage products, its business covers over 180 countries and regions, serving more than 300 million users.
Flying from San Diego to Boston was to be my very first flight since 2019, before COVID, but my trip nearly ended before it even began. When I arrived at San Diego International Airport, I learned that my non-stop flight to Boston had been cancelled, due to not having a flight crew! The best that could be booked were two later flights with a long stopover in Phoenix, Arizona.

I arrived at Boston Logan International Airport just before midnight. From there I secured ground transportation for the one-hour drive to my hotel in Foxborough, next to Gillette Stadium (fun fact: the highway signs say Foxboro, not Foxborough, for larger, easier-to-read lettering).

By the time I got into my hotel room it was after 2AM — and I needed to be checked out and at the UGREEN group breakfast at 8AM!
At the Smart Living Launch Event, UGREEN named New England Patriots cornerback Christian Gonzalez its Global Brand Ambassador.

Addressing a growing consumer concern for privacy, UGREEN announced that they are moving “AI processing, storage, and device control into the home with its local-first HomeAgent ecosystem, reducing reliance on cloud services.” UGREEN HomeAgent is a powerful, sophisticated, local AI hub that unifies local storage, local computing and whole home control in one system, connecting UGREEN indoor and outdoor cameras, smart speakers, photo frames and more, as well as a growing range of third-party devices, creating an AIoT ecosystem that keeps learning and improving. UGREEN Home Agent is designed to activate household data, provide proactive assistance and protection, and keep users in control through a trusted local-first architecture for privacy.

The ecosystem includes the UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 and HA100 Pro, UGREEN MasterAgent MA100, UGREEN SynCare Indoor Cam ID500 Pro, UGREEN SynCare PoE Cam OD600 Pro, UGREEN SynCare Battery Cam OD800 Pro, UGREEN Smart Speaker for Uliya and UGREEN Gallery.

UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 combines on-device intelligence with storage, security, and device control in one hub. Users can talk to the built-in local assistant named Uliya and ask her — in plain, conversational English — to control supported devices, determine the whereabouts of a family pet, open or close connected window blinds, create voice notifications for events, issue increasingly forceful perimeter warnings for the security system and much, much more. Files, photos, surveillance footage and device activity can be stored locally and processed on HomeAgent with no monthly storage fee.
UGREEN believes that home cameras should be used for more than just security and surveillance, but also for recording the joys of everyday family life. HomeAgent proactively captures meaningful moments from live footage, identifies highlights in your photo library, and automatically creates highlight videos and displays them for you on UGREEN Gallery LCD Smart Frames. Local AI recognizes people, vehicles, pets, and packages, generates alerts for unusual activity, summarizes events and enables keyword search across recorded footage. With Matter support, HomeAgent brings compatible smart-home devices together for unified local control. Users can create custom automation scenes and coordinate multiple devices around the home with a single voice request, for a simpler, more intuitive experience.

UGREEN HomeAgent HA100 Pro has a newer generation set of Arm-based processors, significantly greater AI acceleration and more, to support faster network connectivity and more powerful AI performance. It enables more demanding AI workloads, deeper semantic understanding, voice-based rule creation, context-aware device control and advanced recognition.

UGREEN MasterAgent MA100 uses the NVIDIA® Jetson Thor™ T5000, for the most demanding AI workloads.
Following the speakers’ presentation, the event concluded with interactive product demos, displays and a guided tour of Gillette Stadium.
Part Two will be a review of UGREEN’s MagFlow Pro high-speed charging system, including the debut of the world’s first liquid-cooled Qi2 25W magnetic power bank, which provides active as opposed to passive cooling to effectively reduce heat build-up during high-speed charging. Also included will be highlights of the guided tour of Gillette Stadium.

Later that afternoon I took ground transportation back to Boston and then I flew back to San Diego.
