UGREEN Smart Living Launch Event – Part Two — UGREEN MagFlow high-speed wireless chargers with cooling
Early in September, members of the Press were invited by UGREEN to their Smart Living Launch Event at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts (near Boston).
Previously, AutoMatters & More #494r3, entitled “UGREEN Smart Living Launch Event, Part One — Local Intelligence for your home,” discussed UGREEN HomeAgent — a powerful AI local hub that simplifies local storage, local computing and local whole-home control in one system independent of the cloud, for privacy.
This time the discussion will be about UGREEN MagFlow Pro high-speed chargers with active cooling, for which they sent three samples to review.
As UGREEN explains, “During the charging process, there is energy loss due to electromagnetic conversion, which is converted into heat, causing the phone and wireless charger to become slightly heated.” Excessive heat can be an undesirable biproduct of high-power, wireless fast charging, for which typical, passive methods to dissipate heat may be insufficient.
I experienced this for myself on a flight to this UGREEN event. My large powerbank got very hot while it was magnetically attached to, and wirelessly charging, my MagSafe iPhone 14 ProMax. Thermal protection circuitry may respond by throttling-back charging speed, to bring the temperature down.
To address the issue of heat generated by wireless fast-charging, UGREEN developed its MagFlow Series. In UGREEN’s testing, while charging an iPhone 17 ProMax with the active cooling system enabled, the center of the magnetic charging surface reached as low as 51-degrees Fahrenheit, while peak phone temperatures can be reduced by up to 33-degrees. This results in a consistently cool, stable and efficient charging experience.

Following the speakers’ formal presentation on-stage, we were given a guided tour of Gillette Stadium, home of the NFL’s six-time Superbowl Championship-winning New England Patriots. More than just a football stadium, it is a modern events center.
While we were there, workers were setting up for a Bruno Mars concert.

Jan, these UGREEN products are well designed, and by your actual testing, work as advertised. I am not a heavy user of devices, so I only need the circular Apple charger at home, and the pad type charger built into my Jag. My Bose ear buds last days on one charge, so I’m quite happy with my current charging capabilities.

I was not familiar with UGREEN products before I went to their Smart Living Launch Event at Gillette Stadium in the greater Boston area. However, I am very impressed with their quality, innovations and functionality. The three devices that I reviewed for this week’s column do what they are designed to do very well.
As for your question about what types of device users would need these, the answer is simple. If your devices get hot when you are charging, then cooling devices would be beneficial.
I have identified additional UGREEN products that I would like to review. Hopefully they will send them to me.
